Ομιλία καθηγήτριας Michelle Portman με θέμα: «Planning tools for sustainable use of the sea: marine spatial planning, impact assessment, marine protected areas».
Στα πλαίσια του μαθήματος «Θαλάσσιοι Βιολογικοί Πόροι – Αλιεία και Υδατοκαλλιέργειες» του ΠΜΣ Ολοκληρωμένη Διαχείριση Παράκτιων Περιοχών θα πραγματοποιηθεί διάλεξη της Καθηγήτριας Michelle Portman, τη Δευτέρα 18 Μαρτίου 2019 στις 17:00, στην αίθουσα Β.5, κτίριο Τμήματος Ωκεανογραφίας και Θαλασσίων Βιοεπιστημών. Η διάλεξη θα γίνει στην αγγλική γλώσσα και είναι ανοικτή προς τους φοιτητές και την πανεπιστημιακή κοινότητα.
Σύντομο Βιογραφικό M. Portman
Prof. Portman has a B.Sc. in Political Economy of Natural Resources from the University of California Berkeley (’84), a M.Sc. in Urban and Regional Planning from the Technion (’91), and the University of Massachusetts with a doctorate in Public Policy (’07). She returned to Israel in 2009 following a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Marine Policy Center of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) where she researched how land uses in major fishing ports along the New England coast are influenced by changes in commercial marine fish stocks. She completed a second post-doctoral fellowship in the Geography Department of Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2011 researching coastal zone management in an eight-country European Union funded project. She is now an Associate Professor at the Technion's Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning; her expertise applies to marine spatial planning, coastal zone management and ocean governance. She has published over 40 referred publications and teaches courses in environmental planning, resources management and GIS.
